Reception with food and drinks start at 6pm in the planetarium atrium and the concert starts at 7pm. Housekeys is a moniker adopted by multi-instrumentalist and composer Tiffiny Costello (also a UTA physics major!) for her music. Launched in 2014, the project blurs the lines between ethereal genres like ambient, post-rock, and neoclassical. After spending almost a decade moving between cities, she’s currently based in Fort Worth, Texas. Housekeys’ music is generally pretty melancholy—wintry, but not without warmth. It calls to mind musicians like William Basinski, Grouper, and The Haxan Cloak. Costello is currently in the throes of finishing up an album that she started recording at Sigur Ros’s Sundlaugin studio in Iceland in October of 2022, and will finish recording it there in 2024 with Icelandic producer Albert Finnbogosan. She is patiently waiting for it to be ready for the world. By pulling from the pain and beauty in everyday life, Costello’s billowing, atmospheric work as Housekeys manages to unobtrusively tug on listeners’ heartstrings—a level, pure extension of her spirited intuition and well-rounded human experience. Tiffiny has performed at South By Southwest, Basilica Hudson’s 24 Hour Drone, Dallas Ambient Music Nights and more, sharing evenings with Laraaji, Christopher Willits, Christopher Royal King (This Will Destroy You), Nico Rosenberg and many others.
